Renascentialism
[/blockquote]
This religion attributes faith in 3 gods/goddesses; triplets of the earth mother. Morla, the goddess of war; Veress, the god of life and fertility; and Aquais, god of wisdom and water.
It is thought that seven beings, children of the moon, gained unnatural power. These ‘Seven Devils’ are said to haunt the weak and defenseless, jealous of their cousins riches. Sacrifices (once human or shifter but now rams) are given to ward off the entities. Incantations are murmured of peaceful wishes to ward off any demonic forces. The names of the seven are lost to history. Those rare few who are in possession of such knowledge dare not speak them, for they are taboo. This religion is deemed Renascentialism (a follower is called a Renascent). It is patriarchal (bloodlines followed through the father, sons are heirs). Instead of exclaiming, “Oh my gosh!” they say, “Seven Devils!” or in a more positive sense “Praise!”
- “Seven Devils! How can I afford such a price?”
- “Praise! You have returned!”
Paganism
A small portion of the overall population, mainly found in parts of the dragon and shape shifter race, practices a pagan-like religion. They place their faith in a natural aura, believing all power comes from the earth. Once you die your soul is absorbed by the roots of trees and you become one with nature; the ultimate peace. However, they do not believe in the Seven Devils. Instead they fear the Immortal Sins. These crimes against life are said to rot the soul, making it thick with impurity so as the plants are unable to absorb the soul. As of late the sins have lost their abysmal significance. The Immortal Sins include: Murder (commonly broken), adultery, gluttony, abused magic, and earthly negligence (taking from the earth without purpose). This religion is simply called Paganism. It is matriarchal (bloodlines followed through the mother, daughters are heiresses).
